Finnish gold – Eero Mäntyranta

Part 1/8 Endomines x TAHTO ”Fall in love with Finnish gold!”

Finnish gold – Eero Mäntyranta

Finland has enjoyed great success in sports over the years but the 1960’s were bleak times. Cross-country skier Eero Mäntyranta was a shining exception. He won a total of three gold medals at the Olympic Winter Games of 1960 and 1964 and was the only Finnish skier who struck gold at the World Championships of 1962 and 1966.

The Finnish mining company Endomines and TAHTO Center for Finnish Sports Culture have joined forces to bring you the story of Finnish gold. The story comes to life in Eero Mäntyranta’s unique medal collection, which is on display at TAHTO’s main exhibition for one year.
