Golden Recognition for Endomines’ Exploration Team: Agnico Eagle Award 2025

Endomines’ exploration team has been honored with the 2025 Agnico Eagle Award at the Fennoscandian Exploration and Mining (FEM) conference in Levi on October 28.

The Agnico Eagle award is presented every two years for significant contributions to gold exploration or the development of the gold mining industry in Finland, Sweden, or Norway – and this year, the industry’s most glittering victory went to our gold seekers of the Karelian Gold Line!

Creativity, perseverance, and teamwork impressed the jury

The Agnico Eagle Award is granted to an individual or team that has advanced gold mining in a remarkable way – for example, through a new gold discovery, innovative exploration methods, or processing solutions. The winner is selected by a five-member council of experts in exploration, mining, and mineral processing.

Kåre Höglund, Exploration Director at Agnico Eagle Finland, explained this year’s choice:

“Since 1995, Endomines has consistently believed in the gold potential of the Hattu Schist Belt. Despite the challenges posed by low gold prices in the 2010s, the company has demonstrated resilience and long-term commitment by continuing exploration and discovering new gold mineralizations. Innovative thinking, such as the Karelian Gold Rush competition, systematic exploration, and active communication have strengthened the company’s professional reputation and social license to operate.”

CEO Kari Vyhtinen celebrates the award

“I am immensely proud of Endomines’ exploration team. Over the past two years, we have achieved significant results: our gold resources have grown by nearly 150 percent, and we continue to identify promising new targets. But that’s not the only thing that makes this achievement special. What is truly exceptional is the dedication, creativity, and collaboration within our team that make all this possible.”

“I want to express my heartfelt thanks to Agnico Eagle for this recognition. It means a great deal to all of us that our work is noticed and celebrated. We are building something unique here – a success story born from the innovation of our exploration team,” says Kari Vyhtinen.
