From Rock to Gold and Beyond – Endomines’ Capital Markets Day Offered a Deep Dive into the Company’s Golden Journey

Endomines’ first-ever Capital Markets Day was held in Helsinki on Friday, 27 March. Studio Eliel at Sanomatalo provided a professional setting for presentations by the company’s executive management, offering insights into Endomines’ current position and outlook. The event was open to attendees on site and also accessible via live webcast. The event was held in English.

What Is a Capital Markets Day?

A Capital Markets Day is an event organized by a company where management presents the company’s strategy, market environment and future to investors, analysts and representatives of the financial media. The purpose of the day is to provide a deeper understanding of the company’s business than is typically available through regular financial reporting. Capital Markets Days often feature presentations by senior management, compiled strategic overviews, and detailed discussions of the company’s financial and operational targets.

A Clear Direction Toward the Next Phase of Growth

Endomines’ Capital Markets Day was opened by Chief Communications Officer Anni Turpeinen, who welcomed participants and guided the audience through the day’s comprehensive agenda. The programme highlighted the company’s strategic direction, growth outlook and the next level of its sustainability work.

The first keynote was delivered by CEO Kari Vyhtinen, who presented an overarching strategic review. He emphasized Endomines’ position as a forerunner in sustainable mining in Finland and highlighted the long-term importance of the Karelian Gold Line to the company’s growth. Vyhtinen also outlined the company’s strengthened financial foundation, increasing gold production, and its clear plan toward a target annual production of 70,000–100,000 ounces in the 2030s. In addition, he addressed critical minerals and Endomines’ submission of an application to the EU for Strategic Project status.

Chief Operations Officer Ilkka Räty followed with a presentation themed “From rock to gold,” focusing on the status and future development path of production at Pampalo and Hosko. Räty explained underground and open-pit mining processes, reviewed the cost structure and discussed changes introduced by the mining tax. He presented production forecasts for 2026, Pampalo’s growth potential, and the objective of transitioning to a continuous, round-the-clock production model. Räty also highlighted the close monitoring of safety and environmental impacts as an integral part of daily operations.

Chief Technical Officer Jani Rautio continued by outlining the stages of exploration and presenting significant recent discoveries along the Karelian Gold Line. He described the company’s systematic, multi-stage exploration process and shared recent exploration results. Rautio also introduced particularly promising targets such as Ukko and Kartitsa, as well as Endomines’ largest-ever drilling programme, comprising 50,000 metres planned for 2026.

Sustainability as the Foundation for Growth

After the break, Chief Sustainability Officer Hanne Mäkelä presented Endomines’ ambitious sustainability agenda and its evolution toward a regenerative mining model. At the core of her presentation was the company’s new AliveMine concept, which seeks to integrate mining activities into their surrounding environment in a way that goes beyond minimizing harm and, at best, actively supports ecological and local regeneration. The model guides all operations, from mine planning and operations through to closure. The company’s sustainability objectives include achieving fossil-free gold production along the Karelian Gold Line by 2035, as well as creating a long-term positive impact on nature.

The final member of the executive team to take the stage was Chief Development Officer Sampo Hirvonen, who presented plans for achieving the next major leap in production growth. Hirvonen outlined the development programme for the Southern Gold Line, a new processing plant investment planned for the early 2030s, and opportunities to support growth by utilizing critical minerals such as tungsten and molybdenum alongside gold production. He also addressed logistics solutions, environmental impact assessments, and strengthening regional vitality.

Why Gold – and Why Now?

Following the management presentations, Petter Langenskiöld from Evli took the stage. He emphasized that the room for manoeuvre in the monetary policy of developed economies is currently exceptionally limited. Interest rates can no longer be raised significantly, nor can liquidity be reduced without jeopardizing debt sustainability, which weakens the ability to defend the value of money. Within this framework, gold should not be seen merely as a cyclical safe haven, but rather as a structural counterbalance to the monetary system itself.

Ahead of the event, a sense of natural anticipation could be felt among the speakers, but it clearly worked in their favour, as all presentations were delivered with confidence and clarity. The management team also responded to the many questions from the audience with thoroughness and expertise.

Thanks to the positive feedback and appreciation received from the audience – not to mention the excellent line-up of speakers – the Capital Markets Day is unlikely to remain a one-off event for Endomines.
