From Beaches to Football – Endomines Supports Local Vitality and Recreational Opportunities
Endomines is committed to operating according to the principles of sustainable development and supporting the local community as part of its broader sustainability program. One aspect of this work is active collaboration with various stakeholders and the promotion of local vitality and well-being.
In 2025, Endomines has been actively involved in a wide range of support initiatives in the Ilomantsi and Joensuu regions. We have supported, among others, the following causes:
- Hattuvaara Beach – preserving local recreational opportunities.
- Lehtovaara Village Hall – strengthening community spirit.
- MLL Summer Days – supporting important events for families with children.
- Joensuu Swimming Club – promoting youth sports and recreational activities.
- Ilomantsi Young Firefighters and Youth Baseball Teams – supporting safety and physical activity.
- FC Pogosta – encouraging the joy of sports in the region.
- Traffic Safety Projects – investing in children’s safety in Ilomantsi.
- Hertta Carelía – supporting North Karelian women diagnosed with breast cancer.
Long-Term Support for FC Pogosta
Endomines has supported FC Pogosta’s floorball and football activities in Ilomantsi for several years. Thanks to this collaboration, local children and youth can participate in free, low-threshold clubs. The funding has been used to purchase sports equipment and gear.
“The cost of sports hobbies has increased significantly, which can exclude many children from participating. Our collaboration with Endomines has been extremely important – it allows us to continue offering children and youth the opportunity to engage in sports free of charge,” says Tapio Ikonen, Chairman of FC Pogosta.
Support in Difficult Times – Hertta Carelía Association
Endomines’ support has also been crucial in launching the activities of Hertta Carelía ry, an association that provides support for North Karelian women diagnosed with breast cancer. The first concrete form of support is the Hertta Carelía’s Treasure package, which includes practical and comforting items for women who have just received their diagnosis.
“We’ve received product donations from several local businesses. Among them are Pura Nordica, Taina’s Style, and Synnove Design, which created special earrings specifically for Hertta Carelía. The treasures also include gift cards for various services, such as legal counseling,” says Sarah Laukkanen from the association.
More Than Sponsorship – Tangible Responsibility
For Endomines, collaboration with local actors is more than just sponsorship – it is a concrete way to demonstrate commitment to community well-being and a sustainable future.
“At Endomines, it’s important to us that our impact is sustainable – not only environmentally, but also socially. When we can support children’s hobbies, everyday safety, or families in difficult situations, we create something far more valuable than just a monetary donation. This is how we contribute to building a vibrant and thriving local community in the area where we operate,” says CEO Kari Vyhtinen.
