Endomines believes that there is a clear relation between safety and health standards and satisfactory production results. Thus, each business unit has developed long-term plans in order to identify and promote health-enhancing factors. The Company's overall strategy is to strive towards zero harm to all of its employees in relation to health and safety. Endomines shall work actively with regards to healthcare and rehabilitation in order to reduce sick-leaves and to improve the wellbeing of its employees. The working environment within Endomines shall fulfil all regulatory requirements in their respective countries.
It is the responsibility of the business units respectively that all employees are educated in matters relating to their respective working environments to at least the level required by their position in the company.
All employees are obliged to prioritize health, safety and the environment when performing their duties. Instructions are to be followed, and each and everyone shall contribute to all work being performed without risking the safety of themselves and others.
All employees are further encouraged to take personal responsibility for their health, safety and the environment even in their leisure time as injuries at work may to a large extent also depend on the lifestyle of the individual.
HARASSMENT, VIOLENCE AND DISCRIMINATION FREE POLICY
Endomines has a strong commitment to ensuring that our work environment is free from all forms of workplace violence and harassment, unlawful employment discrimination and harassment, including sexual harassment and harassment because of race, ancestry, place of origin, age, colour, citizenship, religion or creed, gender, sexual orientation, disability, record of offences, marital status, family status, veteran status, ethnic origin, or any other characteristic protected by law. All employees are expected to treat one another with courtesy, dignity and respect. Workplace comments and conduct should always reflect the Endomines' core values of open-mindedness, fair play and team spirit.
Workplace violence, harassment and/or inappropriate behaviour of any form, which fosters the creation of a work environment that is hostile, intimidating or offensive to an individual or group of individuals in the workplace, will not be tolerated. This policy applies in the work environment whether in the offices, mining or processing operations, or any other location where employees are engaged in business on behalf of Endomines. This policy also applies to company-sponsored meetings and activities held off company property. This policy covers all officers, directors and employees, as well as third parties over whom Endomines has control, including sub-contractors. Every employee is responsible for promoting a workplace free of harassment, violence and discrimination.
For the purposes of this policy, harassment is defined as verbal, physical, psychological or emotional conduct or behaviour that denigrates or shows hostility or aversion towards, an individual because of his/her race, ancestry, place of origin, age, colour, citizenship, religion or creed, gender, sexual orientation, disability, record of offences, marital status, family status, veteran status, ethnic origin, or any other characteristic protected by law, and:
a) Has the purpose or effect of creating an intimidating, hostile or offensive work environment.
b) Has the purpose or effect of unreasonably interfering with an individual's work performance.
Some examples of such harassment /unacceptable behaviour are: using epithets or slurs; threatening, bullying, intimidating or engaging in hostile acts that focus on a protected characteristic, including jokes or pranks; placing on walls, bulletin boards or elsewhere on Endomines' premises, or circulating written or graphic materials that denigrate or show hostility or aversion toward a person or group because of a particular characteristic.
Workplace harassment is defined as a course of vexatious conduct or comment against a worker in a workplace which is known, or ought reasonably to be known, to be unwelcome.
Workplace violence is defined as the exercise of physical force by a person against a worker in a workplace that causes or could cause physical injury to the worker, and/or an attempt to exercise physical force against a worker in a workplace that could cause physical injury to the worker.
Endomines is against all kinds of sexual harassment. Sexual harassment is defined as unacceptable behaviour of a sexual nature, or other undesirable physical, verbal or other violating behaviour that affects women's and men's integrity at work. Sexual harassment is humiliating and creates an intimidating, an offensive and hostile working environment.
Sexual harassment could include undesirable physical, verbal or other violating behaviour like displaying of pornographic pictures or text, whistle, stare, sexual allusions or offensive gestures that are undesired by the receiver.
Each business operations within Endomines should implement an action plan against sexual harassment stating how the Company works to avoid and handle sexual harassment. The action plan shall be applied to all Company employees.
The employer is always ultimately responsible for preventing and counteracting any employee being sexually harassed, which is regulated by prevailing legislation in each country of operations. If anyone is guilty of harassment, Endomines will take immediate action in accordance with prevailing legislation.
